Hi there... I'm still alive!
Hi.... remember me? Yeah, it's been a while since I wrote a blog post. Thankfully, my drummer reminded me last night at band practice that I haven't written one of these in a while. I reckon it just slipped my mind. I have been solidly on the go for the past several months. The good news is I'm ready to take a breather for a second and catch you guys up on some cool things I've been up to!
First thing's first, I have been playing my butt off at the open mic nights at Kimbros and Puckett's. Every Tuesday and Thursday night you'll find me on their stage singing several of my songs. It's been a lot of fun getting to know the people who go every week as well. I'm finally starting to feel like a regular. I even played the Bluebird Cafe one night and ran into my good friend C.C. Martin. It was kind of funny considering we both don't go every week to the Bluebird. I always love running into NC friends. I personally think we should start a club haha.
Recently, I played my first writers round at The Commodore Grille in Nashville! It's a wonderful night hosted by the lovely, Debi Champion. I was really excited because I had never done a writers round before. For anyone who doesn't know how it works, basically you have three songwriters up on the stage and you each take turns playing songs. Hence the term "writers round". I enjoyed it so much. I've already booked another round this Summer. I can't wait for that!
My best friend and some of my cousins actually came to visit me over spring break. My Mom and I were so excited to get to show them around Franklin and Nashville. The Franklin Theater actually had a Willy Wonka movie night where they passed out candy bags and told you what parts of the movie to eat the candy. Probably one of my favorite things about Franklin is the Movie Gang's themed movie nights. We all had so much fun getting to eat candy along with the movie. We also took them to the Nashville Zoo! I don't think I've ever been as tired as I was by the end of that week. There are just too many cool things to do and such a short amount of time to do them.
Mom and I had the opportunity to check out the Country Living Fair that came to Nashville. She had always wanted to go, so we took off one Saturday and went! There was so much shopping it's not even funny. We saw a lot of neat unique stuff though. It's always fun to spend the day with my Mom.
There has been a lot of back and forth between Nashville and NC. Mostly because show season has started back up. Spring is always one of my busiest times of the year. I've made a few trips back to NC for some shows with my band. We headlined our first show at the Ansonia Theatre in Wadesboro, NC. It was almost a sold out show! I still can't believe how many people came out to support us. If you want to check out some of the concert you can watch a few songs on my YouTube Channel.
I recently did a car show benefit with my band and I was on WBTV News promoting the Kings Drive Art Walk this past weekend. I got to meet Brigida Mack and Delano Little! They are super nice. I love everyone who works at the WBTV News station. I owe a big thanks to Mark Boone and Randy Franklin for hooking me up with the Kings Drive Art Walk. It was a blast to be a part of.
There you have it! That is a run down of my past few months. I'm sorry it took so long for me to update you guys. As you can see I've been on the go so much that I just haven't had the chance to sit down and write about it. Thanks Paul for reminding me!
I love you guys with all my heart! Your support always means so much to me.
