The Starling Music Video Lands Feb 13th

It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and written a blog post for you guys. Since my last post, I’ve released a brand new song into the world titled, The Starling.

A year ago I wrote The Starling after seeing the most beautiful black bird perched on my balcony on a cold day in January. The sun shone on its feathers bringing out the most brilliant hues of blue and purple. Then I noticed little white dots all over the black bird. Immediately, I had to google it.

The mythology behind what Starlings represent is truly something amazing to read about. They’re known for being loud and aggressive in the bird community, but yet represent unity, passion, freedom, and love. In greek mythology, it’s said Starlings pulled the chariot of Aphrodite and she inked those white spots in the shape of hears on them. Obviously, this is all folklore, but I love everything about a creature that is loved and loathed depending on who you ask. I relate to that sentiment. I’m sure there’s a few people out there that would give mixed reviews if you asked them about me.

The Starling was born on that cold day.

My producer, Keith Harris, truly brought this song to life with the haunting production. It’s everything I imagined it could be and we had so much fun in the studio creating the overall vibe. Fast forward months later, I was thinking about making a music video and had a friend reach out to me that they had started dabbling in videography! When I shared this song with him he saw the same vision for a music video that I did.

Back in November we set out on a cold, misty autumn day and filmed the official music video for The Starling. Justin Ferguson and Jamie Chura did a phenomenal job! I truly am speechless at their talent and creativity. They poured their hearts and souls into not only capturing everything beautifully, but editing it masterfully as well.

The Starling Official Music Video is out on February 13th! Mark your calendars so you don’t miss it!!

That being said, thank you guys so much for listening to The Starling since I released it back in October! I can’t wait for you to see this music video. It’s a project I’m so extremely proud of!

Thank you so much for following along! This month, I celebrated 10 years of living in Nashville! I still want to write a blog reflecting on that, but this month has been a whirlwind. Until then, make sure you’re subscribed to my YouTube Channel! I post weekly videos every Wednesday and try to comment back as often as I can.

Love you guys!

xx Carson
